ARE YOU SEARCHING FOR A
MINISTRY?
Our greatest need presently is to find a committed,
Christian couple to serve as house parents. We want to demonstrate
God's unconditional love, provide a Christian home and school
setting and model the principles of Christian living in the
environment of family, school and work. Our goal is to educate
children and encourage them to strive toward academic and vocational
excellence. Consider what this ministry can provide for you.

Challenging Responsibilities and
Opportunities
This is YOUTH MINISTRY in its
purest form. It is not wrestling for an hour of attention from
a child to gain a baby step of progress only to send him or her back
to a dysfunctional family for the rest of the week. It is an
opportunity to have the tools to effectively mold, shape and provide the needs of a young person.
This is DISCIPLESHIP in a true
sense. It is long term placement of a child in your care to
mentor to them.
This is TEAM MINISTRY by necessity. It takes two,
both a role model Mom and a role
model Dad to give the complete balance a child needs. It is an
opportunity to win the hearts and souls being wrecked by society and
broken homes.
If you are looking for a full time Christian
ministry that will meet the challenge of at-risk youth and are not afraid of a
lifestyle that involves physical "hands on" work, then the Sunbelt approach may
be the alternative you are looking for.

Much of the
work done at Sunbelt in the construction and physical improvements
of our ranch is done by volunteers, either alone or in groups.
Sunbelt makes an excellent missions project for your church group
and we invite you to consider booking your mission trip here.
There are numerous opportunities
to be of assistance. Because of the working nature of the ranch,
there are opportunities for skilled laborers as well as youth
groups. We very much appreciate you contacting us
well in advance about coordinating your volunteer time at Sunbelt so
that we can maximize the benefit for all parties.

CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW
HOUSE -
SEE PHOTOS HERE
We're building a new ranch house to be in a position to
provide space for more children.
What we need is coordinated, skilled labor to finish this
house. We specifically need drywall finishers, plumbers,
and carpenters; later on we will need painters and
landscapers.

RANCH WORK
There is always something that needs to be done
on a ranch. This summer, we are hoping to rework some of
our fences, as an example. Bailing time is always a busy
time around the ranch, when we try to bring the hay into the
barn. Currently, several of our residents are female and
we can certainly use the help when hay season comes in, later
this summer. Firewood is an on going project as well. |

LABOR TO SORT AND ORGANIZE
DONATED MATERIALS
When we receive donated items, we could use
assistance to sort and organize the donated items so that they
can best be used on the ranch. Cleaning and organizing
the Ranch Store is an ongoing project. |

SKILLED TRADES
If we know someone is coming to volunteer on
the ranch and they have specific skills, we will do our best
to utilize that skill in what we need most at the time.
The original house, the Diamond H needs to be remodeled before
it can be used again to house children. Although this is not
presently a 'top' priority, we will need electricians and
carpenters for that project. |

HOUSING FACILITIES AT THE RANCH
Groups working at the ranch are provided housing and meals at
no cost in a bunk house setting, males and females dorms with
bathroom and shower facilities. We have space for 14, but
we've had groups bring mattresses for the floor before to
accommodate the extra. While we have some bedding material, it's best
for groups to plan on bringing their own bedding
(pillows/sheets/blankets) for bunk beds.
VOLUNTEER RELEASE
Each member of a group is asked to sign a release of liability to
protect Sunbelt Christian Youth Ranch. Volunteers will not
working alone with our youth, and not in a supervisory position
with them.
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT
Depending upon the job that is being planned, the ranch may have
tools on hand, although many groups bring
their own. It's best if we talk about what is needed when
you are making plans to come.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO PLAN A MISSIONS TRIP?
Most of our heavy construction and repair work is done during the
summer time, when schools are typically out and the groups have
more people that can commit, however we welcome your inquiry about
trips at other times. From a logistical standpoint, we
encourage groups considering us during the summer to limit their
number to 15, less than that if it is during the school year
because it stretches our staff very thin. Most volunteers
have stayed for 3-7 days, although from time to time, we have some
"snowbirds" (Retired and Traveling) who escape the northern cold
and volunteer on the ranch during the winter.
DEVOTIONAL AND WORSHIP TIMES
We enjoy having devotional and worship times with groups that
work at Sunbelt and encourage you to participate with us.
We need notice of your intentions in order to
prepare.
